Make ramen while you’re camping? Sure you can! This foil pack recipe is an easy way to make ramen on the grill, in the oven, or on the coals of your campfire. Mix it up with your own favorite ingredients and flavors.
Camp Ramen
Ingredients
- 2 packages ramen noodles
- ½ cup sliced fresh mushrooms
- 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups assorted chopped fresh vegetables – broccoli florets, snap peas, red bell pepper, etc.
- ¼ cup finely chopped onion
- ¼ cup sliced green onion
- Pinch of red pepper flakes, to taste
- 3 cups vegetable or chicken broth
- ¼ cup reduced-sodium teriyaki sauce
- 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tsp sesame oil
Directions
- Preheat grill or oven to 400°F. Alternately, let campfire burn down leaving hot coals.
- Place each ramen brick in the center of two 18-inch squares of heavy duty aluminum foil.
- Top each ramen with mushrooms, shrimp, veggies, both onions and red pepper flakes.
- Gather up the sides of the aluminum foil forming a high-sided cone to hold the liquid ingredients.
- Whisk together broth, teriyaki, vegetable oil and sesame oil in a bowl and evenly pour over the ramen mixture.
- Bring the foil together, leaving a small vent to allow steam to escape.
- Cook on the grill, in campfire coals or in the oven for 14-17 minutes or until noodles are soft.
