Grilled Pizza Recipe for Camping

Grilled Pizzas - the perfect dinner recipe for your next camping trip! #KOACamping

Great Grilled Pizza is the perfect camping recipe because of how easy it is to make — and how easy it is to make everyone happy. Before leaving home, have the gang give you a list of their favorite pizza toppings, so they can build it how they like it once they’re at KOA.


  • 1 package of English muffins
  • 1 jar of pizza sauce
  • 1 bag of shredded cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings


Spread pizza sauce on English muffin halves. Sprinkle cheese on top of each slice. Add toppings as desired. Put foil down on grill and cook over warm fire or cook on an open campfire with a grill on top until cheese is golden brown. Enjoy!

    LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these.
    Not only camping but at home too. Try them for a party at home with the kids. Parents do the muffins and sauce and then lay plates full of different toppings on the counter as well as a couple different kids of cheese and bam, perfectly made kids pizzas, they will eat them as they know they’ve made them themselves!

    I started making these 40 years ago as a 4-H demontration speech. Try brushing the english muffin with olive oil before adding sauce and toppings. It adds an authentic flavor and keeps the suace from soaking into the muffin.

    Re. The Cookstown KOA in Ontario CANADA!!! Matt & Alison are one our favorite hosts. Niether one quits all season. I see Mattout doing a safety check as I sit by the fire at 1 AM (Reading my book by myself) and yet he is back out at & doing pancakes. (fair but next time I’ll have to give him my secret recipe. They have hired only the best in staff which only match their passion. Matt says he gets to sleep in the off season. If he does I figure he’s just a friendly (skinny) bear. HIGHLY RECOMMENED.

    I make pizza all the time using a whole round of pita bread. Started doing this when I was losing weight and have continued.

    Skip the English muffins and use large Portabella mushroom caps. Brush with 2 or 3 coats of Avacado oil or light Olive oil. Turn them over add shredded cheese, pizza sauce and your favorite toppings. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. It doesn’t get any better than this!
