Grilled Corn on the Cob

May 25, 2015

This sweet and savory side is made even more delicious when prepared on the grill or campfire. The KOA home office staff loves this dish and we’re sure you will too! Be sure to include it on your menu the next time you’re Camping at KOA.

Ingredients:

  • Corn on the cob (do NOT husk)
  • Water
  • 1/2 to 1 cup sugar (optional)
  • Butter
  • Salt (optional)

Directions:

Mix water and sugar in a clean bucket, cooler or large pan (add enough water to cover corn). Add the corn to the mixture and soak for 1-2 hours. Remove corn and place on campfire or grill (keep husk on). Turn often to avoid burning, cook for approximately 20-30 minutes, or until tender. Remove corn from fire, peel back husk and spread with butter and/or salt. If you like the extra flavor that direct contact with the grill provides, you can place your corn (without the hust) back on the grill for another few seconds.  Enjoy!
