Spring Training Brings Fans Out of Hibernation

February 9, 2014

For more than 125 years, Big League baseball players migrate south each spring to Florida and Arizona. On their heels comes a devoted throng of baseball fanatics who relish stretching out on the fresh-mown grass, rubbing elbows with their bat-swinging heroes.

Baseball Spring Training transcends time. Teams pinball around the two states, playing games that are more instructional than serious competition. Stars often play a few innings, and then take a relaxed jog along the outfield warning track to keep loose.

This spring’s season games are scheduled to begin the last few days of February and continue throughout the month of March.

You’ll have incredible access to the players during Spring Training. Many of the fields used by teams seat only 2,000 to 3,000, and players can be found having casual conversations with fans along the baselines. For a true baseball fanatic, it’s magical.

Whether you arrive by car, RV or even airplane, KOAs are great “home bases” for your Spring Training experience. No matter which teams you follow, there’s always a KOA within striking distance of a Spring Training ballpark.
