This Month’s Recipe: “Man Dip”

September 21, 2010
Warm it up or keep it mild–use your favorite hot sauce to make this recipe all yours.

1 pound Italian sausage
2 packages cream cheese
2 cans diced tomatoes with jalepenos
1 cup salsa
Hot sauce to taste (my favorite is Cholula!)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Brown and crumble Italian sausage. Add in cream cheese; melt over heat. Stir in tomatoes and peppers, salsa and hot sauce. Add in mozzarella cheese and stir until melted.

Serve with nacho chips.

Enjoy with friends.

Repeat last step.

I’ll be this would also be good with chorizo (a Mexican sausage) and monterey jack cheese. Can’t wait to try it!

  • Carolyn

I’m going to try this with turkey sausage to reduce the calories / fat. Less “manly” for sure, but that’s ok!

  • Sylvia

This will be a perfect dip for sitting around the fire at camp. Or for the ball games my sons friends come over to watch. Great recipe.

  • DMAX Fitz

Making this right now now and watching the Cardinals play the Raiders. Can’t wait until it’s done.

And yeah, what is that guy holding?

  • Carolyn

It looks like a bottle of hot sauce to me.

One of my Son-in-Laws gave me this recipe quite a while back. We use it a lot. Really hits the spot when you’re sittin’ around the fire tellin’ tales.
