Who’s Goin’ Little?

September 21, 2010

“Other than a case of Coke, I think this is the first thing I’ve ever won in my life!”

That was the response of Rick Reed of Loveland, Colorado when he learned that his name had been chosen from among the 37,911 we received in our Go Little Giveaway.

And what does that mean?

Rick will receive a Joey, Little Guy’s ultra-light trailer. Sleek and modern, the 450-pound trailer can be pulled behind almost any vehicle, sets up in seconds, and is a unique and cozy place to spend a night at any KOA campground. He also will receive a Tepee Shower & Outhouse from Paha Que’ and, because he has been a VKR member since 2008, also receives 5 nights of free KOA camping.

“We are so pleased to have the opportunity to work with Little Guy on this promotion,” said Mike Gast, Vice President of Communications for KOA. “And getting the chance to tell Rick that he was the winner was a fantastic experience.”

Rick and his wife, Charlene, are avid campers, and enjoy heading to KOA’s throughout Colorado and Texas. Although the two do own a motor home, Rick says that pulling the 450-lb trailer behind his pickup will be great for little trips.

“The only teardrop trailer I’ve seen was one that was home-built,” Rick said. “It was remarkable—and I think it will be great to have one.”

“The fact that Rick and his wife are frequent campers was very exciting to us,” said Chris Baum, Little Guy’s Chief Operating Officer. “We know that they’ll put their Little Guy to good use at KOA and have a lot of fun doing it.”

If I was considering running a contest as KOA has, I would have second thoughts after all of the belly aching. Good for KOA and best of luck to the Reeds.
    Grow up!
